MAC ‘To The Beach’ Body Oil Rocks

Hello my little scissor’s legs. How I’ve missed you! I was felled by a migraine (surprise!), but I’m back, ready to rhapsodize about a product I hold near and dear to my jaded, hard-to-impress heart. Old School SYB Babes might remember a certain obsesh I had with dry body oil — preferably infused with shimmer — in the warm weather months. And what’s not to love? Luster-less skin is criminal when wearing bikinis, short shorts, mini’s or barely-there tanks. A spritz of dry oil gives your skin a lusty, glimmery sheen that’s fairly screaming I am sex walking, don’t you wish you could enter me, suckaaa?! Plus, very subtle mica flecks put your tan on blast, creating a bronze goddess moment that’s irresistible.

So pretty.

So yeah, it’s safe to say I’m still obsessed with shimmer body oil. The good news? I finally found one that doesn’t make me smell like a Tahitian hooker (why do beauty brands think “beachy” scents should evoke Pina Coladas and vintage Coppertone?). MAC’s new, limited edition ‘To the Beach’ Bronze Body Oil ($22.50) is a non-greasy, essential oil mix blended with multi-dimensional shimmer that’s barely visible until the light hits it. And it’s unscented! Huzzah!

Both shades are delectable: Man Rays (left) is a golden caramel that’s stunning on deep complexions; Seaside (right) is a rosy-tan that’s deeply gorge on fair-to-medium skin. I actually wear both (on different days. I’m not an animal). Here’s my trick. Apply the oil when your skin is still damp from your shower. This way, the oil seals in the moisture, keeping your skin hydrated and supple all day. Don’t forget your clavicle…and rub the excess into your hair for a last-minute glossifying effect! Pretty. Just so damned pretty.

My Question: When you say the one on the left is for deep complexions, how deep are we talking. As a milk chocolate chick, sometimes I find these shades a bit… chalky. Will it make me look ashy? lol

I feel you, Tay. Ashy shimmer is le worst. No, this one’s totally sheer. Uber-tranlucent. The shimmer isn’t really colored, it’s just very reflective. I can even wear the pink one!

Thank you for the tip, I can’t wait to try it! Unscented is a big bonus. I hate for anything to interfere with my perfume, bleh, and scented oils usually irritate my skin anyway.

I can’t wait to try this, but wanted to know if any of the oils were almond or any other nut oil? They didn’t have the info on the website, but I was hoping you may still have the box :)?

Definitely putting this on my next mall visit to pick up! I need some shimmery glow on my legs in the summer.
