Tool Time!

Hola pumpkins. Okay, we all know that excessive heat is not really the move for transitioning hair. It’s already pretty weak, so why add extra stress to the equation? But I don’t smoke (umm cigarettes), drink, or harbor a debilitating porn addiction, so leave me to my heat tools, dammit! And since we’re on the topic, I wanted to share with you my two favorites of the moment:

I do know this resembles a dildo.

Sedu Clipless Curling Iron has answered, like, nine of my prayers. I’m a huge fan of rippling beachy waves, and the way to get them is to wrap small sections of hair around the barrel of a curling iron — keeping the clip closed. You hold for five seconds, then slip out the iron. Voila, boingy curls! The geniuses at Sedu have done away with the pesky clip altogether, creating a barrel-only curling iron that gets straight to the point. Plus, it comes with a little glove for the hand that’s wrapping the hair. See, in order for your ends to have a pretty bend instead of ending in sharp, straight points, you must hold the end of each section close to the iron while winding. The glove saves you…no more burnt fingers!

My other obsession is CHI Touch Screen Dryer, which is the very first on the market to have touch screen technology. It’s the iPad of blowdryers! The best part? You can adjust the temperature based on hair type. What? Genius. The special ionizing feature also customizes ion output based on your texture — the idea is that thick, coarse hair needs more ions to remove frizz than finer hair. Finally, a dryer that’s not trying to dehydrate your strands, but provide you with just enough heat to rock a dope ‘do. Yay CHI!

I just purchased the Sedu clipless and I am in L.O.V.E.!!! My hair has NEVER held a curl and for some miraculous reason curls made with my Sedu stay in for days. It’s a ceramic miracle that only cost me $100.
